sefue13 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I'm attempting to import a .dxf file, with Waypoints, Waypoint Attributes, Tracks, Track Attributes, etc., from Garmin MapSource into AutoCAD 2012. I'm able to open the .dxf file in AutoCAD 2012 and visualize all of the points and attributes; however, when I attempt to select any item on the attribute layers, a Fatal Error Message is generated, reading: "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434352h Exception at fd7ecacdh". The program issues this error and then automatically aborts after selecting "OK". To be clear,I'm able to select the actual waypoints but never the attributes, which contain information relevant to the elevation of each point. If anyone had any tips to resolve or avoid this error, they are much appreciated. Thanks. Quote
SLW210 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 What are your computer specs? What is the file size? Quote
toberino Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 You say you can open the drawing in AutoCAD...try inserting it into your template as a block and check the explode box. All attributes are retained and available to manipulate. That's how it works for me. I get completely different results if I just double click on a .dxf and let it open. Quote
Murph_map Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I found that with Garmin MapSource the export to DXF with attributtes not worth the trouble and had more fatal errors than exporting to shp format then converting the shp format to dwg. Then again you can use this to bring in the GPX file. Quote
