hoss Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Hi, I have a very strange problem, I'm trying to get some elevations ( top, front, left...) to send to the fabrication company They way I have been doing this (might be wrong), is create sections, use wblock and select the sections and save them. open the file saved as wblock by AMEP and export to AutoCAD Since yesterday, when i try to create section, by selecting the marker and click on generate section, i have no issue for the horizontal section, but when i try the vertical section, after selecting the items and pick a point , AMEP crashes just about near the end of generating view. I have not put this file in a project, its just a DWG file with several other CAD files that been xrefed in it. The error that I get is Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at I tried auditing the file and purging it several times, and no luck Does anyone know anything about this issue Thanks Quote
KeithBrown Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I am not sure what is causing your issue. You might have some corruption in your database. You can try to export your drawing using the export command, saving it as a dwg and selecting all of your items and see if that fixes it. If not, you can try a trick that I do to create "Live" sections. For every section that you need create a new blank view drawing and xref your model drawing. Draw a polyline around the area that you would like sectioned making sure that your polyline is placed in the correct locations. Then using the polyline xclip your xref to remove everything outside of the polyline. Once the xref is clipped change your view to match the sectioning line of the xref. You will now have a live section that will update automatically whenever you update your model. You can change your ucs to match your view and annotate to your hearts content. Quote
hoss Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 I think I found the problem The drawing containg some MVparts that have been created by another person. If I take these out of drawing, everything is fine. I think I need to create these mvparts again, and try it. Thanks Quote
KeithBrown Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 You might trying opening up the mvpart dwg in the catalogs and running an audit on the file. It could be that something is corrupt in that file and it is introducing corruption in your file. Just a thought. Quote
hoss Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Hi and Thanks for your replies I have recieved the file from another company, so the mvpart won't be in my catalogs??!!! still don't undrestand the whole thing Quote
dumfatnhappy Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 there is a hot fix for creating sections that I posted a week or so ago for 2013. the sections would not hide anything (really wigged me out). I think you should download and run it anyway. Not to mention there are quit a few fixes for MEP on Autodesk.com that I would recommend for all versions. Quote
