How do I get the measurement and bearing on my dimension lines? Example would be from the Oleson village dimensions.

Since the property lines aren't completely horizontal or vertical you'll have to match the angle of the line. Most every drawing I've seen looks like the student has "eyeballed" it. I like to use the SNAPANG option (to set crosshairs at same angle as line) but there are other ways to do it too.

By the way, you don't "dimension" property lines like you would an object such as a steel plate.

Have you looked at any of the images from the Oleson Village project here at CADTutor?

Search for a lisp named LABEL2. it seems the most popular.

If I have to label my prop lines directly (client dependent), I use aligned dimensions with all lines and arrows suppressed. For the bearings, I have to fudge an override ( N 36%%d 21' 18" W) in 'em since Acad LT does not let me lisp a label onto the lines. Luckily, surveys are so complicated with other things, 10 or 12 lines done manually seems easy to live with for me.

In real life you would use a Line Table with the lines numbered or lettered related to bubble callouts. I always use a Curve Table anyway, regardless.

We might want to include a brief description of what a lisp routine is, how to load one and how to use it too guys. We could be dealing with a novice AutoCAD user here. Just a suggestion.
