I'm not so sure it really means that much. Have you contacted your AutoDesk reseller? You should be able to take any AutoCAD certification tests at their office.

Even if you will find a free/very cheap resource to provide you with an AutoCAD user certificate, you should not overlook the reputation such certificate will bear. I mean, it may be just a simple piece of paper not taken into account by anyone. If you really want/need a certificate, then you should go with an accedited course/exam.

On a similar note, how hard are the official AutoCad certification certificates anyway?

I known that when I have checked job openings I rarely if ever see a company specify that one must be "certified" in AutoCAD to apply for a position. If it means that much to you though (bragging rights) then go for it. Good luck in your endeavor.

The first one, Associates, is a multiple guess trivia test. The more one has done customization of the interface the harder it is since you no longer are using the sysvars or commands on a daily basis but rather aliases of those. Yes I passed.

The Professional one is a practical exam actually using the program and is fairly easy if you have any time at all using the program. There are no 3D or lisp questions in either one from what I remember. Yes I passed.

I took them out of curiosity more than anything and they were free for a little while when 2010 came out for beta testing, IIRC.

Congratulations.

I could be wrong, but I think I have heard 7/10 fail these exams on first attempt.
