Inventor 2013 and Windows Vista

I know it's not officially supported, but is there any way to get it to install? I've already installed .NET 4.0 and the Hotfix that was required for 2012, but when I go to install Inventor 2013, it only wants to let me install DWG True View, Fusion and ACAD Mechanical.

 

Is there a solution or do I just need to get a Windows 7 machine in there instead? This one probably only has

 

 

Edit to add: the machine is an HP workstation w/C2Q 9550, 12 GB of RAM, Quadro FX 1800 and Vista x64 Enterprise, if any of that makes any difference.

Solved that problem ... silly me, thinking that the IT department would have pushed service pack 2 for Vista. *facepalm*

LOL glad you got sorted:), I'm on my second HP workstation, great machines but hopefully this one will last a long time before I buy the 3rd

my English isn't that good, but is this what you're saying:

For Inventor 2013 to run on a Vista machine, one requires:

- Autodesk Inventor 2012 Service Pack 2 ?

- Hotfix for 2012 ?

- .NET 4.0 ?

 

After that the option to install Inventor is opened?

Sort of, not quite.

 

You have to have Vista service pack 2 installed, and .NET 4.0. The hotfix that's required is for Windows - it's KB971138. Google that, you'll find the download link through Microsoft.

 

After that, yes, you can install 2013 on a Vista machine.
