lasershows Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Does anyone have a 3d football in dxf or dwg format? I am making a project of a robotic guy that has a ball at his feet, I can draw the guy but struggling with a perfect wireframe football. Quote
CarlB Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 c'mon, give it one more try I made a not so good-looking footbal in 2 minutes by drawing an arc, connecting endpoints, make the shape a "region", "revolve" about the axis. For a wireframe you could start with an arc, use "revsurf" to create surface. Set SURFTAB1 to a number (> 10) to give you desired definition. Quote
lasershows Posted September 1, 2006 Author Posted September 1, 2006 Hi Carl, Thanks for the advice but the football I need should be made from hexagons not arcs, a football in the traditional sence. if it was not 3d i could manage but making the sphere perfect is way over my ability and then getting these polygons to all meet together is actually very hard to do. Can you do this? Andy Quote
scj Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 have a look at http://plus.maths.org/issue27/features/mathart/index.html in the middle part there is a football too... regards Jochen Quote
