rgm Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I am using Autocad 2011 for mac. I have been given a ctb file of cad pens settings. How do I add these pen settings to my version of Autocad so that I am able to print my drawings with the same pen settings. Thanks Quote
Dana W Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Oh ,you are on a Mac. Sometimes I read too fast. I didn't notice that before. Anyway, there is a chance that the process is identical to windows, so I will post my response anyway. If at any point until you add the file to your search path, you see something different than what I describe, simply cancel out. Somebody will let on to how to do it on a Mac if it is that different than on Windows. Put your new *.ctb file in a new folder that you can easily relocate. Call it 'My Custom Plot Styles' or something. It doesn't have to be, and it is probably better that it not be in your AutoDesk or AutoCad folders that were created at installation. Make sure this .ctb file has a unique name, you do not want it to be confused with any of the existing plot style (ctb) files. Then open AutoCad. Type options in the command line, or dynamic input. Click the Files tab. Expand (if it is not already) your Printer support files search path by clicking the + sign. Then expand your Plot style table search path. You will then see the file path location of your existing plot styles (ctb files) appear. Highlight the Plot Style Table search path. Now click either the browse button, to find your new folder and add it, or click the the ADD button and type in the full file path to your new folder. Once either of these is done, click Apply, then click OK. You will now see this ctb file appear in the list to select from when you create or modify a layout. This doesn't move the folder or file, it just gives AutoCad directions on how to find it. Quote
