ConMan Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Just switched over to Inventor 2013 Design Suite Premium from 2012. Have old "material" of fiberglass that was created for use in 2012 and previous versions. Used to be able to go to iProperties and select it as the material. Had different surface color (nice but unimportant) and of course the proper density for fiberglass (VERY important). With the new Material/Appearance designation I can't find fiberglass anywhere. So question, is it possible to find and import this material? If not, is it possible to create a new material/appearance the new 2013 way? I am kind of surprised that fiberglass is not a material option, perhaps because there can be veriation in its composition??? Please let me know needed followup info since this probably isn't enough. Thanks! Quote
Bishop Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 This is one thing I've been having a lot of fun with, migrating to 2013. Easiest thing to do is open up an existing part file that already has your material in it, then add it to the Inventor Material Library. You should be able to use it for any new files you create after that. Quote
ConMan Posted September 19, 2012 Author Posted September 19, 2012 Thanks Bishop, I had to add it to the Favorites instead of the library though. When I tried to add it to the library I got the following error code: Changes to the library cannot be made. The library file is currently locked or missing. Looks like I have some sort of issue with the library... Quote
Bishop Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Yeah, your administrator may have set the library to be read only. Favorites is a good second choice. Quote
