jlewsey15 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hi I'm using AutoCAD 2008 -English SP1. I'm having an issue that when I open AutoCAD and press any key on the keyboard the program kicks me out and closes with no error messages or anything. Just pooof and gone. Can anyone shed some light on how to stop this? Thanks James Quote
ReMark Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 AutoCAD 2008? And when did this unusual behavior start happening? Quote
jlewsey15 Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Today. Never happened before. And yes 2008, company hasn't upgraded yet Quote
ReMark Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem? Quote
jlewsey15 Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Looked on the internet to see if anyone has had the same issue. Looked to see if it's something in the options that differs to other people's settings. Nothing found so posted on here Quote
ReMark Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Something must have changed. Did you have a Windows Restore point that pre-dates the start of the problem? Quote
Tyke Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I had/have exactly the same problem on one machine here but with AutoCAD 2009. I tried a repair install and then a complete uninstal and reinstall but the problem still persisted. Our AutoCAD dealer actually came to the office but he didn't sort it out either. He contacted Autodesk in Munich on the phone and both of them together didn't sort it out. In the end we just left it as the next version appeared and we installed and ran that without any trouble. But the problem exists to today if someone inadvertantly starts 2009. It was with AutoCAD and Civil 3D 2009 too. I know that's not a lot of help to the OP as he doesn't have the option to upgrade. But if his problem is the same as ours it is not a trivial thing. Perhaps ReMark will come up with something, if anybody can, he can. Quote
JD Mather Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Assuming you failed to create a Windows Restore point after installation of each software on your machine http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2887771&linkID=9240617 otherwise simply Restore to last known good state.
