leo55 Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Hi everyone, You guys were so helpfull last time and I've now got a new challenge (for me that is). I have a file where model space is on a straight axes, that is straight horizontal and vertical axes but in paper space the dwg shows up rotated to true north. I believe in fact that model space has been rotated FROM true north to a straight axis to make it easier to work on but paper space has been left at true north. How can I manipulate the views so they are BOTH (model and paper space) on a straigh axis, (not true north) and also generally how does this manipulation of the UCS work. As a side question, when I want to manipulate the UCS in paper space do I go into a model space mode ( so the viewport frame becomes active (bold), or do I remain in paper space mode within the paper space window). I hope I dont sound too confusing...because I am. Thanks in advance. Quote
Dadgad Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This new VIEWPORT primer by ReMark http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?72972-Things-you-should-know-about-Viewports. mentions the command you are looking for VPROTATEASSOC, look at the bottom of the post for more information on it. In order to manipulate the UCS in a paperspace viewport, it will need to be UNLOCKED, and you will need to DOUBLE CLICK inside it, the border should be BOLD, if this viewport is one of several use CTRL R to cycle through them until you get the one you want. Remember not to move the mouse wheel while inside an unlocked and active viewport or your scale will be changed. If it does change, just set up your view, rescale the viewport and make sure you LOCK the viewport again, or you will wish that you had. Quote
