Any way to make a solid hatch translucent?

I'm drawing over a bitmap image where I'm outlining certain objects. I'd like to hatch over them but make the hatch translucent so image underneath will be partially visible. Is this possible in AC 2012?

If you want to print it tanslucent, then you could create a layer for the hatch with a color that can be set to use screening.

2013 does it

That is also available in 2011 it's there in 2012.

Does that apply to plotting or is just for on screen display?

Just select Plot Transparency in plot settings.

I think RobDraw's first suggestion will have to do as the transparency feature wasn't available in 2008. At least I don't believe it was.

I believe the question was concerning AC 2012.

I use transparent hatches, really gives some of the drawings a "little something extra". Most here think I use a magic wand on the drawings.
