KATIE0801 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Hi - i have tried a couple of websites looking for free hatches of wood grain etc. but with no luck and instead alot of c*** has been installed on my PC! Can anyone advise on a safe website to download from that is also free? Also I have never installed/used a customised hatch? Is this process relatively simple. Thanks, Katie Quote
ReMark Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Try this site for free hatch patterns. http://www.cadcorner.ca/hatch.php Yes, the process is relatively simple. Quote
KATIE0801 Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 Thanks. I am having trouble finding the downloaded file within autocad? I have saved it in the support folder but it does not appear in any of the drop down patterns? Quote
ReMark Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 What file did you download and where specifically did you place it on your hard drive? What folder? You have a some options when it comes to using the hatch patterns you downloaded. You can take the pattern definitions themselves and append them to the end of your acad.pat file, you can load them individually or you can group them in a custom PAT file that can be loaded separately. Whatever method you use AutoCAD needs to know the "path" to the file so it can find them when called upon. Which method do you want to use? This site offers free wood grain hatch patterns too. http://www.cadhatch.com/#/autocad-wood-hatch-patterns/4555347745 Quote

ReMark Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Congrats. Many people struggle with that and you were able to figure it out all on your own. Good work. Quote
