ReMark Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I believe the sky is set in the "background". You can set a background from the View Manager. Quote
papagyi Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 The best way is you should need to save your perspective view.To do set the sky in model space is... type in command line ...skystatus :0 (skyoff) : 1 (sky background) : 2 (sky background and illumination) you can choice as you want Then you will need to set sky setting from your save view ... "V" enter.. you will see view manager dialog box and select your save view then select sun & sky from background drop down list and adjust sky setting from sun & sky background dialog box according to model view sky setting. These two setting will help you that can get right setting of sun or sky to your render result. If you will need custom sky,you can select image from background drop down list of save view manager dialog box. Quote
Noahma Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 you can also go to View --> Render --> Light -->Sky Properties this will bring up a palette for the sun and sky properties. you can set your time, intensity and all the other stuff from that palette. Make sure your lightingunits is set to 1 or 2, and you should be set. Check out the geographic location settings as well. Quote

shift1313 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 are you changing anything with the sun position. light or shadows settings between the two? Quote
mugshot Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 i did not change the sun angle, illumination, time, country,... for you guys too see the difference, the only thing i change is the view, sky properties to be OFF, SKY BACKGROUND AND SKY BACKGROUND AND ILLUMINATION. Quote
Noahma Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 you should have sky to be on, with background and illumination. Change your geographic location and sun angle so that you get the desired shadows. If you need the sun to be more intense, bring up the numbers, you can do the same to the background. Dont change the color of the sky, the color that is default is very close to what is out there. The sky background and illumination adds more scattered light that has been affected by the sky in general. I usually do not use background pictures, it is very hard to get the light to match between them. these are the images I get with it turned on. please ignore the floating window trim lol. Quote
mugshot Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 ... the main concern here is the difference of the shadow that is being cast on the structure.... i have used the image so that you guys have an idea on what my problem is... ( i know that sky image is not appropriate but sometimes good minds comes from silly ideas). Quote
papagyi Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Do you means like this?I used sun and custom image from save view. Quote
