precisionpete Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Noob question... How do I set the position (i.e. move) and object relative to another object? Specifically, I am using Architecture 2013. I have two parallel walls. How do I set the distance of one relative to the other? I know I can measure the distance, calculate an offset, and move one by that offset. But there must be an easier way? Thanks Quote
Murph_map Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Look at the "FROM" options with the move or offset commands. Quote
mateen Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 here you can apply both commands copy and offset... select one wall and than apply copy or offset command and than give your desired distance as you want..... Quote
CyberAngel Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 What I'll do in that situation is draw a temporary line (or two or three) perpendicular to the first wall, use Lengthen/Total to make it the right length, and move the second wall to the end of the line. Then I erase the temporary lines. There may be an easier way, but I haven't found it. Quote
rkent Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I like to use XLINE with the offset option within that command. Quote
