Hey everybody, I´m trying for the first time to extrude an object (circle) along a path. Is there a way (of course there´s one:) to do this in cad 2007?

thanks

Yes there is. Use the Extrude command with the "path" option. You'll be prompted for the path after picking the object to extrude.

The exact prompts are:

Select objects to extrude:

...and...

Specify height of extrusion or [Direction, Path or Taper angle]:

You will want to type the letter (for Path) then press Enter. Pick your path and away you go. Have fun extruding.

That was the intent :). You're certainly welcomed.

Sweep is more suitable for extrude coz extrude path is cross section need to perpendicular to path.Sweep path can extrude with any position of cross section.

Good point papagyi. I hadn't thought of that. That's probably because I am so used to using Extrude as opposed to Sweep that I tend to forget. Although almost everything I extrude is always perpendicular to the path. Thanks for adding that piece of info.

also the path for sweep doesnt need to be located on your circle. it can be anywhere and you can use the tangent to start option.

The sweep command is like the extrude along a path on steroids..

Thank..Remark ..Your forgetting is my chance....ha...ha..

One good thing left in sweep !If you will use extrude path, this path must need start point and endpoint. For sweet...no need this.

Eg..extrude can't small rectangle section to extrude along the rectangle or close polyline.Sweep can!So i will call "sweep" instead of "SWEET".:D:D:D

i prefer also sweep... if extrude line or path, it sometimes occur an error in the drawing... if using a path, be sure to have your guideline in the center of te object.
