samanthadimayuga Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Hi.I have AutoCAD 2013. I am trying to paste a block from another drawing to the one I am working on but when I paste the block, the color is different than what it should be. The drawing that I am trying to paste it on was already created for me. I could of course change the block to reflect the correct color but I just know I am doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Sam Quote
MSasu Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Most probably the color of the items that form that block is set as ByBlock and block's color is set as ByLayer; that make them receive the color of current layer in target drawing. Quote
SLW210 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Or A layer in the drawing already has a layer with the same name, but different "by layer" color, as the layer the block is on. Quote
samanthadimayuga Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Figured it out. The block that I was trying to copy has multiple layers. When I wa pasting them, it was copying the original block. Changed it. Thanks for the reply guys. Quote
