Cad64 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Updates and service packs fix problems with the program. You should always install them when they become available. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?id=2334435&linkID=9241178&siteID=123112 Quote

Cad64 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I would recommend that you install all 5 product updates. I believe they are all different and unique. You only need to install Service Pack 2. It contains both Service Pack 1 & 2, so you don't need to install Service Pack 1. I doubt you will need to install the Network License Manager or the Backburner update or the Catia update. You can install them if you want, but probably not necessary. If you want information about each update, view the ReadMe file that accompanies each download. Quote
Lannabulls Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Thank a lot! about Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 Product Update 1-5 i ask if i must install all or just the 5th one cause i went read "readme" pdf of update 5 it says: "http://www.autodesk.com/3dsmax-updates. It is recommended to uninstall any versions of Product Update 1 prior to installing Product Update 5." "Note: Product Update 5 includes all previous Product Updates for 3ds Max 2013 / 3ds Max Design 2013." Therefore as obviously you can understand by my poor written english, i'm italian, i repeat the question: i just install update 5 or i must install all from 1 to 5? If i understood well just the 5th one is enogh! About Backburner, in a domestic situaton as mine, 2 pcs connected, 2 fast machines with good hardware for 3d, it make sense install Backburner or not at all? Thank a lot! Quote
Cad64 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I can't tell you what YOU need to install. YOU are the only one who knows what YOU need to install. In regards to Backburner, I thought you were a beginner so I didn't think you would be using it. If you have 2 pc's connected then yes, install Backburner. I don't know what type of files you're working with, but if you're working with Catia files, then install the Catia update. If you need the Network License Manager installed then install that too. Like I said before, you need to view the ReadMe file that accompanies each download and decide for yourself if you need to install it or not. Then follow the instructions and install accordingly. If the ReadMe says you only need to install the last update in the series, then just install the last update. If you need further information about the updates, you should probably contact Autodesk with your questions. Quote
