MUTTLEY Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Hello everybody, Since it seems inventor can not create:( the flat pattern for a derived sheet metal part,(e.g. a mirrored-derived sheet metal part) i found the following workaround: i derive the base component into the derived component as a surface, than i thicken the surface to the right thickness, and finally i can get the flat pattern. Hope this can help someone;please let me know if a different/better workflow is possible. Muttley Quote
JD Mather Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Hello everybody,Since it seems inventor can not create:( the flat pattern for a derived sheet metal part,(e.g. a mirrored-derived sheet metal part) ... Of course it can. I think I know what you are doing wrong - but just to be sure, attach your file here that exhibits this behavior. Quote
MUTTLEY Posted October 28, 2012 Author Posted October 28, 2012 Ok JD,after your reply i have played around little bit more today. The problem was i create the flat pattern of the derived part with the wrong thickness (use thickness from rule checked) so i set the thickness to the correct value and finally the flat pattern is ok. Sorry for the previous post and thank you for your prompt reply. Muttley Quote
JD Mather Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Ok.... wrong thickness That is the most common mistake. Quote
