silent_hunter Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Hello, I've been using SolidWorks for a few months & it's really a very good package.I am an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering.I want to know where can I get practice materials? There are lots of tutorials available in the web, but I want to practice like we practice mathematics (i.e. 2D drawings given,I'll create the 3D part or use simulation to compute results etc),I mean some real world problems (not just to watch and do as instructed in tutorials). Please give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance. Quote
SLW210 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Start modelling everyday objects. Start with your cell phone, mouse, pencil, coffee cup, etc. whatever you can measure. Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 As SLW210 says, everyday objects are fantastice. As for your simulations, choose some parts/assemblies you have done your won analysis on and simulate in Solidworks to get similar reslts (they probably won't be exact). Quote
JD Mather Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Libraries also often have good examples. and here are a bunch of blueprints for mechanisms http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.inventorwizard.be%2Fblueprints%2Findex.html&hl=en&langpair=auto%7Cen&tbb=1&ie=ISO-8859-1 Quote
