CharlieC48 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I cannot get Dynamic Input to work correctly on my AutoCAD 2013 installation. Polar Format is always the default no matter what the variable DYNPIFORMAT is set to. Neither using 0 or 1 as the setting will enable Cartesian Format to be the default for the second or next point. Changing the settings in the Pointer Input Settings dialogue box to Cartesian Format also has no effect. 2nd point always is entered as Polar Format. The over-ride for cartesian (,) does work though. I simply want the default to always be cartesian. Anyone have similar experience? Thanks Quote
CharlieC48 Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 That's an override. As I mentioned in the original post, the overrides work. What I'm looking for is a fix as to why the System Variable DYNPIFORMAT doesn't seem have an effect on setting the default function. Quote
rkent Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Looks broken, are you on subscription? You could submit a support request to let them know about it. Quote
Dadgad Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Welcome to CADTutor. Try turning off your OSNAP TRACKING, and setting your DYNMODE variable to 1. I never use cartesian format, but experimenting with this, I need to tab from the X field, which locks it, into the Y field. Works okay, no polar interference here, with those settings. Quote
CharlieC48 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Changing the DYNMODE to 1 seems to have fixed it. I can live with the result until I need to use Dimension Input - which I rarely utilize. Thanks Quote
Dadgad Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Glad to help. Are you familiar with the SYSVDLG command? If not, I am sure you would enjoy checking it out. Quote
