Looking for a good tutorial on self populating blocks.

I want to start a new drawing, pick a sheet size, and answer questions so my title block is populated for me. I don't know what kind of tutorial I need to get me going in the right direction. I have a drawing template, but things get overlooked sometimes. I figure if you are prompted for certain info, like the client's name and drawn by then that's one less mistake out the door.

If you want to re-use information from other areas of the drawing, then look for FIELD command.

If a truly automation is what you were looking for, then should check the customization solutions provided: AutoLISP, .Net and ARX. This will allow you to show a dialog box to the user, gather project features and insert the filled title block. And this may be just the beginning...

The above answers refer to AutoCAD; since you didn't stated the CAD software you use, neither the version, both may be useless.

And, last but not least, welcome to the Forum!

Thanks for the info. I am actually using intellicad 6, and after digging through the help I found the Attribute Definition command. I think that will work for what I need at the moment.
