justintime Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I'm having a problem with the fillet command using a radius, I can't seem to get a rounded corner. I have the radius set at 1.00. I should see a rounded corner. If I set it at 0.00 or 1.00. I get the same result. Something doesn't seem right! Could it be a setting. I viewed a few videos on Youtube and I can't replicate the same filet with radius results. I watched one that you can select radius by right clicking mouse. A text box appears to the right of the cross hair cursor where you can input the radius. On my screen that does not come up. Thanks for the support. Quote
nod684 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Fillet > Radius>"YourRadius" then Run fillet again and choose 2 lines or have you zoomed in as in really zoom? maybe 1 is too small for you to see? try inputing a larger value and see if it helps Quote
MSasu Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 The FILLET command include an info prompter including current radius - may press to check if is set correctly; also this can be validated investigating the FILLETRAD system variable. As @nod684 observed, if there seems to don't be any change when call command with different radiuses, then most probably the radius is too small for effect to be visible. A text box appears to the right of the cross hair cursor where you can input the radius. On my screen that does not come up. This is controlled by DYNMODE system variable - please set it to 3 to achieve that behaviour. Quote
danellis Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 How long are the two lines you're trying to fillet? Do you get an error message at all on your command line? dJE Quote
PotGuy Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I think when you have two v. short lines, combined with a too large radius means that an error message appears. Try using two longer lines and try again. Quote
ReMark Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 "A text box appears to the right of the cross hair cursor where you can input the radius. On my screen that does not come up." That is probably because you do not have Dynamic Input enabled. It can be toggled via a button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen or via the F12 key. "I can't seem to get a rounded corner. I have the radius set at 1.00. I should see a rounded corner. If I set it at 0.00 or 1.00. I get the same result. Something doesn't seem right!" How long are the two lines you are trying to fillet? When you say that you don't see a rounded corner do you mean there is no arc at all or that it looks segmented (a series of short line segments)? Quote

justintime Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 I was finally able to use the fillet command. I had my scale setting way off. It was performing the command just couldn't see it, unless I dramatically zoomed. Thank you for everyone's generous support. Great site! Quote
