spursnutter Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Is it posible to do arcs using the 3DPoly command? Quote
shift1313 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 what are you using the arcs for? Im not sure but i would be inclined to say no. arcs are typically reserved for the xyplane. You can rotate this plane however you want and create arcs at different angles, but i have never been able to draw an arc off plane. Quote
spursnutter Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 I wanted to be able to set out a pipe plan and then just extrude a circle along the 3dpoly path. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 i think acad 09 has a tube feature built in but i never got the chance to use it. What i typically do is setup my bends and rotate them to the correct orientation. Then use the PEDIT command to join all of my lines and arc together. Unfortunately i do not have access to acad 08-09 so i cant tell you if the 3d tube/pipe feature will allow you to make 3d arcs. are all of your bends standard joints? Quote
spursnutter Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Unfortunately it is all bespoke, which makes it that little bit more of a challenge. Quote
shift1313 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 well do you use a standard radius die for the bends? I know that you can do it if you draw your bends in the xy plane and rotate them or rotate the ucs to align it to your direction. Quote
