Faouweb Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Hi, When I insert a Frame in an Assembly, they are allways grounded and i can't move the part or use constrain Any solution ? I use Inventor 2013. Thank you Quote
JD Mather Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Your question doesn't really have enough information, but 1. any part or assembly can be ungrounded 2. a sub-assembly should be set to Flexible if it is to have motion within an assembly. Quote
Faouweb Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Thank you JD Mather for your help I wanted to show you what i did but now I have an other problem I can not add a Frame between 2 points as you can see in the picture: This morning it was OK i could insert a Frame between the 2 points but this Frame was Grounded i couldn't move it or use Constrain, can you tell me how to ungrounded it. JD Mather Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 It doesn't make sense to unground a frame. You place the skeleton file in the assembly. You create the frame. If you need to move a member - you edit the skeleton file. If this frame moves relative to other parts you place this frame into another assembly as a subassembly. I am completely confused about why you would unground a frame. Quote
Faouweb Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 As you said it's beter to edit the skeleton, that's what I do most of time, i'll keep working with this method. Thank you JD Mather Quote
