KarolR Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I made parts in a top down design in an assembly, then moved all the files to another folder. Now the assembly opens good, but the changes i made in the assembly before the move of the files aren't reflected in the part files. The Update button in the assembly doesn't help Quote
JD Mather Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Inventor files are hyperlinked to each other. Use Design Assistant to move/rename or whatever similar action to files (or Vault). I'm sure the situation can be resolved after-the-fact of not using D.A. but the user needs to understand why it happened and how to do it all correctly to avoid future problems. Reading your problem statement again, not sure this is the problem. Sounds like you might have edited (cut) from parts at the assembly level and expected to see these cuts at the part level. Just like the real world - cuts made after assembly of parts did not exist at the part level before assembled and cut. Quote
KarolR Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 True, i made holes after i inserted the parts into the assembly. How can i transfer them to the parts themselves? Quote
