I want to print pdf. Actual pdf size is 2.27mb. But when I send it on plotter for plot it , pdf file size increase up to 46.9MB. I wait more than 60 min for plot. :(But nothing came out.

Plotter display windows shown as processing print.

Please tell me how I print it fast or how I decrease pdf size for printing.

2,27 Mb doesn't sound that big, actually. Where do you see the information that the file size has increased, in the printer information window or in explorer? Are you using the internal AutoCAD printer driver "DWG to PDF"? What printer are you using, and is the printer driver up-to-date?

I found file size increase in plotter window. Explorer show only 2.27mb. my plotter name is "HP Designjet 510 42in."

Every thing is up to date. Before any print I always plot dwg. to pdf.

I think the red borders in the view under the "Properies" button mean that the layout is not fitting into the plot area. I would try rescaling the plot to fit and see if that helps.

It doesn't matter. If I use "fit to scale" it will clear red border, but it will not help in file size or plot pdf.

Hi Balji,

Check to see if your document is spooling using the computer memory as opposed to the printers memory. This should be available in the printer properties for the Designjet.

While the advise you received above is generally good, the answer to your question has no fix inside AutoCAD: your plotter/printer either needs more RAM, or an optional harddrive if it is designed for such a thing, or the driver you use must have the ability to set plot processing "in computer".Otherwise you are just out of luck, sorry.

What program are you trying to print the PDF with? and do your printer have support for PS drivers?

If your printer support PS then try to use/install the PS drivers for the printer.

If you use Adobe Acrobat Reader, there is an print option to to make all calculations in the computer instead of printer, that is an possible solution.

I have had some success (not always) with Foxit pdf reader when Acrobat reader have failed so that might be worth a try, its free.

other possible (poor) solutions is to lower the resolution in "DWG to PDF" or use a smaller format and then let the pdf reader scale the print.
