JPlanera Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I have a frame assembly that I want to run a stress calc on. The load i want to apply is another part.. So I want to put the part on the frame and run an FEA with only gravity(and the weight of the part). What is the best way to do this? Quote
Bishop Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Sounds like you already figured out what you need to do, really ... It's no different than doing any other FEA, just make sure you've got the right constraints / contacts / materials, etc. Just make sure you set up your gravity vector. Quote
JPlanera Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Yes, in fact, I was going to follow up with this today. Took a while to figure out the contacts.. but i got it! Do you have experience with dynamic simulation? This is a rolling cart that could become top heavy. I would like to sim an exaggerated turn around a corner to see if it will tip. How difficult a task is that to accomplish? Thanks for the feedback Quote
Bishop Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Sorry - Dynamic Simulation is something I've only just barely dipped into. I know just enough to know that I don't know a whole lot about it. Quote
