DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Hello All, I've a 3D drawing. I'm taking parts out into new layouts with the "Base" command. I place the top view but when I project the "End Views (left, right, front & back)" I can't see them? They are there, when I move my mouse over them I can see them. What's up with this? Any Help. Thanks, DECHAL. Quote
Dadgad Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Are you trying to create these in a VIEWPORT perhaps? When creating VIEWBASE images you do not use a viewport. Quote
DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 No, Just in a layout out tab. No Viewport. I Think it's a display setting. I've noticed that I can see the projected view when I zoom in far enough or when I pass the mouse over them! Quote
Dadgad Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Reset your SCALE perhaps with the SCALE option at the commandline while you are running the VIEWBASE command? Are you remembering to click ENTER after specifying which views you want projected, and where? Quote
DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 No Joy.. Is it possible to make the limits on the projected views bigger (user defined)? The limits been the bored when you click on a view.. Quote
Dadgad Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 If you are using LIMITS, I would suggest turning them off, you can do that at the commandline after entering LIMITS. Changing the scale to a larger number will make your projected views larger, like I suggested in my last post. Try setting your scale to .1, and see what happens. I do not mean to run the SCALE command after creating your views, but as a command modifier while you are running VIEWBASE. Quote
ReMark Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 OK...so it looks like you used the VIEWBASE command but at full scale. Quote
DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 i created the model out of a few 3D parts. They I used the BASE cammand the take the parts out one by one and projected the views as you do.. It prints correct and you can see the missing views when you zoom in.. Surley it's a display setting or annotation? Quote
ReMark Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 It prints correct? Your designated paper size is 210x297. If one measures the rectangle on layer VL the size is 2800x1930. You do see that small gray rectangle in the middle of your screen (the one with the dashed border and the viewport that you turned off)? That's your paper. Your paper is metric size but when I activate the VIEWBASE command it gives me a default scale of 1" = 1. That's an imperial scale. Quote
ReMark Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 The result I came up with using the VIEWBASE command and the paper size you specified. Quote
DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Started again. set scale down to 0.2 and it works. What I had done was set scale to 1:1... Thanks for looking at this.. DECHAL. Quote
ReMark Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Please make sure you are not mixing apples (metric) with oranges (imperial). If you intend on using metric units then use a metric template. Quote
DECHAL Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Yes, I see that. I'ts the first time I've tried to do a drawing this way! I'm setting up template and scale all Metric.... at the minute. Thanks again. Quote
