Block will not scale correctly as per units

Hello:

Using ACAD 2013 64 bits. I am trying to insert a block created in inches (by another company), in a drawing created in meters, but it is not working. This is the initial setup: Block-drawing's units are set to inches, type Architectural. My drawing's units are set to meters, type decimal. So far so good, I guess. Then, I proceed to open my drawing, execute the insert block command and select the Block-drawing. Once selected, I can see in the dialog box the son-of-a-*****'s Block unit clearly reading inches and the correct scale factor of 0.0254. However, when click OK, the drawing is huge. I check it's properties and the block's geometry is correctly set at an insertion scale of 1, 1, 1; but, in Misc, the block unit is now "meters" and the unit factor is "1"! This means that one inch equals one meter. This does not happen when I create the blocks; in those cases it works as it should. I could just scale it myself, but I do wonder what is going on with this block drawing... Thanks.

You might want to run the -dwgunits command (include the hyphen),

then hit F2 to open your text window, as you want to be able to see about 10 lines of history

while running the -dwgunits command.

Sounds like your INSERT units are incorrect, -dwgunits should help you sort it all out.

Type aecdwgsetup theres a button about rescale blocks also theres a funny bug somewhere in autocad connected to this, you may find your block is 1/0.3048 scaled wrong.

There is no "AECDWGSETUP" in Vanilla AutoCAD.

Hello and thank you for your responses. Indeed SLW210, I just figured that out; but thanks anyway. Dadgad: I used your command and made only one change: dwg units from millimeters to meters. The rest seemed to make sense. After that, I was successfully able to insert the drawing and all of the content inserted has now the correct size. However, there was one big problem. The block drawing contained blocks in itself; specifically furniture. What is now happening is that the furniture gets inserted in the correct size, but in the wrong location. It is as if it still kept the “origin”, and every furniture is located as if it was scaled in distance, but the furniture itself has the correct size. I don’t know if I am being able to convey this idea correctly. But the building itself is OK and I am able to start working properly now. Many thanks to all of you.
