ReMark Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Think on number 11 there for a minute. If you have already created several different labels how would copying them make them all appear the same? Take another look at number 10 too. The easiest way to answer the question would be to invoke the DIMSTYLE command and look on the Primary Units tab. Quote
trent13az Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 unfortunately, I don't have the software, just reading out of a book. Quote
ReMark Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Have you had a chance to see or use the program in class? Quote
ReMark Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 This is what the Primary Units tab looks like. Look at it closely then take another stab at the question. I would expect a graphic similar to this to be in your book. Perhaps you overlooked it. Quote
trent13az Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks ReMark, looks like the answer would be: D. linear and angular units. not taking a formal class just using a book for now to see if I can get it, then I may invest in the software. Quote
ReMark Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Well there is no need to invest in anything other than a little time and effort. Go to the dassault systemes website (the company responsible for creating SolidWorks) and download their FREE (yes, you read that right) 2D AutoCAD clone (very similar to AutoCAD 2010). While you're their also download the user's manual which is also free. The commands, the layout and the way it works is very, very similar to AutoCAD. Did I mention it was FREE? The program reads and writes to the AutoCAD 2010 file format so you can load and edit drawings done with AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT (as long as they were saved to the 2010 or earlier file format). And when you create a drawing using DraftSight it is saved as a DWG file which anyone with an AutoCAD program can open. Is that cool or what? Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 The answer to number 11 is MATCHPROP. MATCHPROP is the Match Properties command. Properties of text can include the text style, height, orientation, etc. Thus a user could have several labels created with different text styles, heights, and orientation. Using MATCHPROP the user could select one label as the "source object" (i.e. - the one to match) then select the other labels as the "destination object(s)" (i.e. - the objects that are to be changed). Hope that makes sense. Quote
ReMark Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 great info- thanks! You're entirely welcomed. Unfortunately I have a meeting to go to now but if you have any further questions I'm sure one of the other forum members can assist you. BTW...although I use AutoCAD for my job I have a copy of DraftSight on both my work and home computer. Good luck and happy cadding. Quote
