ibach Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) When I save layer states overrides for a certain view port and mane it e.g. "K", in layer state manager current layer state is shown as "K", but when I change layout and come back to this one, in layer state manager current layer state is shown as *UNSAVED* again!!! This results in a great problem. If I update layer state "K" it does not update all view ports that should have layer state "K" automatically so I have to go trough all of them again and apply "K" again and again after any change to "K" is made. Link to other thread: Apply Layer State Overrides to view ports using filter which, if answered could bypass the problem. Edited January 20, 2013 by ibach Quote
ibach Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Anyone? As I see it, when you list view port properties, it only says:"Layer property overrides Yes/No" but it does not say which saved layer state. How to link saved layer state to particular view port permanently?! I found this post... Assign Layer State to Viewport on Autodesk forums... "Not a feature of the program." It says So only way to do this easy way would be to write Lsp which would assign saved layer state to view ports in a drawing using some sort of filter. (lets say to all view ports in a layouts with particular name or particular part of a name e.g whose name begins with/contains a string of characters. Or all the view ports in particular layer...) irneb Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Yep, this is an old problem. I actually created an Augi Wish for this 4 years ago: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?81155-Associate-a-Layerstate-to-a-Viewport Quote
ibach Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 I've seen that one Has anyone solved it somehow? Quote
irneb Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Not to my knowledge. I had looked at doing it through some lisp, but it's rather involved Quote
ibach Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 I must learn LISP.... This should not be hard. If only someone like Lee Mac would engage to do this... I'm sure he could. Use filter (by layer or by layout name) to select view ports, go trough all or selected layouts... It sure is possible. Why have I given up programing years ago... No time i guess... But to go trough 100 + layouts, 150+ view ports no time for that too... Quote
