Scan Terminated by Control-C error

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to click on a polyline and change the shape of it by dragging it's corners around. So when I do that, and hit escape to exit the "stretch" command, it undos what I did and I get a "Scan Terminated by Control-C" error. I've never seen this before and I have no idea what it is.

I've tried auditing (0 errors) and saving, closing the drawing and reopening it. Still does the same thing.

Any suggestions?

Did you try shutting your system down completely then rebooting and loading Civil 3D?

Have you tried this in a brand new drawing using a single polyline similar to the one you claim to be having errors editing?

Is this a continuous polyline that you first turned into a spline that you are attempting to grip edit?

1. Yes I've tried shutting down. Still does it.

2. I tried it in a new drawing and it doesn't give me that error. Note: there was a hatch within the polyline that I'm trying to change. I originally thought it had to do with the hatch but I've deleted the hatch and it still gives me that error.

3. This is a regular closed polyline. I am trying to click and drag the vertices around to make the shape i want it to be.

I cannot duplicate your problem on my computer.

If there is no problem in a new drawing then that has good news. That means the problem is confined to a single drawing. You might want to either DXF out your geometry or use the WBlock command and get it into a new drawing then test to see what happens.

No, I tried WBlock and it still does the same thing. I've tried DXFing and opened the dxf file and still gives me that error.

I've found a way around it. Instead of hitting escape to deselect my polyline, I just zoom extents and it deselects it. It's kinda annoying but I haven't found anyway to get rid of this error yet.

You could try posting the troublesome part of the drawing file here.
