samifox Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 HELLO Using acad 2010, Im attaching an XREF to my drawing, But it comes rotated, I saw that in the xrefed drawing the wcs isrotated. I guess if I'll set it to pyre 90 degrees ill get it fixed. How can I set the wcs to the defult 90 degrees? Thanks Shay Quote

Dadgad Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 The fastest way to fix it, on the fly, having encountered such an inconsistency would definitely be, as Eldon suggested. The correct way would be for the UCS to be set the same in both drawings. If you use your VIEW toolbar or palette and select the appropriate perspective to reorient the UCS along the axis required and then insert it, the orientation at which it is inserted into the new drawing will be fixed. Which UCS is correct? It is a good idea when working in 3D to maintain the Z axis as the the height or elevation relative to the XY plane which is horizontal. So too, when creating blocks ensure that they follow this protocol. Quote
RobDraw Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 By defintion the World Coordinate System, WCS cannot be rotated. The view in the file can be rotated so the the WCS symbol will be rotated on the screen. The User Coordinate System can be rotated and moved. That being said, this sounds like a situtation I run into with incoming site drawings. I usually need to rotate and move the building so that it is lined up with the one from the architect. Quote
