Hi,

I am trying to get a Location Plan dwg into a Word doc. what is the best way to go about this?

I got the best results with WMF format (command EXPORT); please pay attention to WMFBKGND system variable that control the background color of the image (match it with the one in editor or leave it white).

+1 for WMFOUT. However, you can do "Paste Special" in MS Office products and choose WMF so you don't have to actually "export". Just Ctrl+C Copy from AutoCAD, then Paste Special in Office products. Saves a step in my opinion.

Thanks MSasu!! It's not very often I can provide you with a tip... you're one of the most knowledgeable individuals in AutoCAD that I've seen in quite some time.

Wmf is our choice also background set to white = white paper, BUT CIV3d 2013 its all gone down the drain when using wipeout, printers & PDF Ok WMF no longer works properly it ignores a wipeout, we have had to reload a 2011 to do the stuff we want.

The dwg is as follows its multi level as we are playing with images and linework. Base bottom image JPG next elev a wipeout to block out image next elev Multi line work only. Using the multi elev was the only way to get it to work tried draw order no success. Bug appeared in civ3d 2012. This is an ongoing project so over months and need to produce for official reports.

If some has any ideas it would be appreciated.

Using crtl +c watch your colours as it pastes a colour picture into word Yellow is the worst.
