sajid Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 how to change ortho on /off key from F8 to other key i want to set it by digit " 5 " somebody knows? Quote
MSasu Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 You may check this previous thread; but, by assigning it to key you will not be anymore able to input this digit (i.e. for coordinates, displacements, etc.). Quote
welldriller Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 sajid: Don't know about AUTOCAD 2012 but in AUTOCADLT 2000 I just click on the icon in the tool bar to turn it on and off. welldriller Quote
sajid Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 ok thanks friends ...my problem solved already, now i am using F1 key for ortho. and 1 ,2,3,4,5 for other most working commands Quote
ReMark Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 How are numbers added to a drawing? Are you doing it via the numeric key pad? Quote
sajid Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 go to drive c and use search option to searching file(acad.pgp) ...this is the file which contains commands double click this file it will open text file all commands are there just Chang what ever you need but careful and make backup file for it before changing Quote
ReMark Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Did not answer my question but thanks for the info. Quote
MSasu Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 One observation, the said file doesn't contains the commands, but rather the shortcuts/aliases to use to call them. You may access it also by calling the line below in command prompt: (startapp "NOTEPAD" (findfile "acad.pgp")) You may want also to check the REINIT command if you modify it while the editor is open. sajid Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 ReMark sir i did't understand what you ask exactly Quote
ReMark Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 We're not in the army. No saluting and definitely no "sir" allowed. How do you type in numbers if the keys below the function keys are now assigned to different commands? I assume you use the numerical keypad off to the left on your keyboard. Am I correct? Why is assigning the commands to something other than the function keys or a key-combo so important? What is the advantage? Quote
MSasu Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Just tested, the editor doesn't distinguish between numerical keys (top/right side of keyboard) when calling commands. So, by assigning a command to a numerical key by PGP file, will loose the ability to input that digit. Quote
ReMark Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Maybe the OP doesn't use numbers or any of the symbols on the same key accessed via the Shift key? Maybe he types the numbers out (ex. - two or one hundred thirty-seven). I'd hate to have the type the words "exclamation point" out every time I wanted to use one. LoL Quote
sajid Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 with me its working and .i am using F1 for ortho and i dont need F1 for help.1 for pline 2.move 3.match 4.copy 12.rotate 34 dim `~. erase .before there was too much commands typing sound but now smooth and comfort. You do not need numeric keys during work unless you not activated if you activate any command then you can enter the value for it.... example...i press 1 for poly line .now i need to enter the length of line so again i can 12 , Quote
MSasu Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 So, although you used a numerical key to associate as alias for a command in PGP file, when inside a command, the said key is resuming its standard behavior and act as a digit. That is really interesting to know! Thank you. Quote
