davesec Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 hi i have a bunch of sheets set up, and you can see a white rectangle with a shadow that i guess represents my page, and then in this page there's a dashed rectangle that i'm guessing has something to do with margins or something. i would like to turn this dashed rectangle off, if possible. secondly, my sheets are set up for 11x17.. i was given a titleblock drawing to use. the titleblock was drawn in modelspace at 11x17. i copied it into the sheet and it seems to be the right size. there's an 11x17 rectangle that the titleblock sits in, and i'd like to line this up with the actual page (to make sure the titleblock is in the right spot).. however i can't seem to snap to the corners of the white page with the shadow. any idea how to do this? thank you! Mike_Taylor Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 1) Tools>Options>Display>Display Printable Area Uncheck (Bottom left hand side of the window). This represents the maximum printable area. 2) The origin (point 0,0) should be the edge of your sheet, so you can use that as a base point to move your title block to. Quote
davesec Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 thank you very very much for this. incidentally, my dashed rectangle can't possibly represent the maximum printable area, the space between the dashed line and edge of the page are huge.. is there a way to change the printable area or is this a default value? (because i think mine's messed up, my printable area would be maybe 50% of the page if the dashed lined was accurate) Quote
ReMark Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Yes, it does represent the so called "printable" area of your drawing. It's easy to test too. Place an object such that it straddles both sides then print. Are you sure you have the right paper size to begin with? Quote
davesec Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 i must have the wrong paper size, then.. the dashed rectangle varies on each sheet, even though all the pages apparently are 11x17.. i'll try to figure out what's wrong with all of this! Quote
ReMark Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Is the 11x17 size designated as "Ledger" or maybe ANSI B? Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Right click on the layout tab, go to page setup manager, click on the layout and go to the layout tab you are currently in and hit modify. From here set up the parameters as if you were plotting (page size, what to plot etc). Once complete hit ok and the changes should come through in your layout tab. Note: Only the page setup for the layout tab you are in can be modified, so none can be if you are in model space attempting this. Quote
