Combine/flatten all layers

Recommended Posts

I have just downloaded AutoCAD LT 2009 and need to know how to either combine all layers and make all line work black and scalable - or - convert to a .pdf format again with all line work black. I am needing to print out a clients files to do my programming for a sign package.

I ultimately output these files in whole or parts as 11" x 17" pages for my submittal packages.

I need to do this frequently and have used DWG Viewer before but with files that had already been "flattened" by the architect. Any help is appreciated.

Hello Studio Arts!

First of all welcome in the forum!

"Combine all layers" -hm... it is not a good drawing practice, but here you are: zoom out to see all the drawing, select all the screen and in the Layer drop-down list select the one you wish to hold the selected things. To control the colors, choose their color "By Layer". Now simple go to the Layers dialog box and set the layer's color.

I would keep a copy of the original drawings.

What do you mean by "Flattened"? all objects in 0 elev?

as for black and white printing, all you need to do is select monochrome.ctb under pen style assignments in plot dialog box. you dont need to put them in one layer coz... as fuccaro also mentions as not good drawing practice, for me this spells out only disaster in dwgs :D
