Gaz_J Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hi there everyone. First time poster here but long time searcher LOL I work for a company as IT support. For the last few days i've had a problem with someone not being able to print to A3. All the other users on the network can print to A3 or A4 but on this one particular users computer when you select A3 it still prints out in A4. Everything is in proportion just not on the right size paper. I have checked the settings and there's nothing obvious I can see but I have not previously worked with AutoCAD. It is possible for him to email the file to another user and them print it but obvoiusly this is inconvenient. There is definitely A3 paper in the machine LOL Thanks everyone Quote
Tiger Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 first, Hi Second, does it do the same with every printer? Even with a PDF-printer? Quote
Gaz_J Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 Yes no matter which printer I send it to it occours which makes me believe its to do with autocad as opposed to the printer itself. Like I said this is my first time working with autocad so a complete noobie when it comes to this. Quote
wannabe Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 The size might be set to A4 within the properties for that printer, in the file you are using. Click on the properties for your printer, then custome properties, then Layout, then look for the advanced button. Apologies if you find this comment patronising. Quote
Gaz_J Posted November 14, 2008 Author Posted November 14, 2008 No I dont find it patronising at all. Because i've never used the software before its all a bit daunting to me. Im sure its something really simple im missing but you all know what its like. Sometimes the most obvious things are the hardest. I dont think that is it because other users are managing to print to A3 on the same printer. I will try the fix now though anyway. Quote
dbroada Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Printers - AAAARRRRGGGHHH I'm not sure what your problem is but here are a couple of places to check. CTRL-P to get the print dialogue up. The paper size should set from the magenta drop down. Press the cyan button and check what is set in the .PC3 file. There is a similar screen within the windows plotter configuration I think. Is A3 available there? Quote
wannabe Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Dbroada illustrated my point. Although there is a custome properties button underneath. It's the advanced settings in that custom properties feature that will also need to be set to your desired size. Quote
