Onyxalis Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Hi, there I just got a new computer, with acad 2012 and now I can't get the scroll wheel to pan and it annoys me to no end. I use a Logitech MX 3200 mouse/keyboard set. I have upgraded the Logitech Setpoint software, changed the scroll wheel to "middle button", set MBUTTONPAN=1 in CAD, and still no go - help, please! If I press the wheel down and hold it ABSOLUTELY still I get the PAN-grip symbol but as soon as I move the mouse it dissapears. Any suggestions? Thankful for any help I can get... //Jenny Quote

Onyxalis Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 And have you checked Mouse Settings in the Windows Control Panel? Yes, I have looked through the Windows mouse settings and can't find anything that looks like it should be related to my problem. Quote
ReMark Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Do you have another mouse available for testing? Quote
Onyxalis Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Do you have another mouse available for testing? Yes. I just tested a very simple mouse with only two buttons and a wheel. This one I get to work after assigning the wheel as "middle button". I guess I can always use the simpler mouse when I draw but then I can't use the drawing functions I have programmed to the extra buttons on my "real" mouse. How annoying! Quote
Onyxalis Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Did you check the Logitech website? Yes, but they only advise to get the newst drivers and SetPoint software, which I already have. Good news though: I found another cordless Logitech mouse and that one works better. The scroll wheel still doesn't work as intended but on this mouse I could program the search button as a second middle button and use that one to pan with. I can now both pan AND use my other programmable buttons - YAY! Quote
Tiger Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 If the pan symbol show up first and the disappears, I am thinking it could be the graphic card drives that is wonky? If the computer is brand new, perhaps there are new drivers for you to install at the graphic card manufacturers website? Quote

But I just found a work-arround that seem to work; My mouse is of the kind where the scroll wheel can be moved from side to side, as well as clicked. When I assigned the wheel horisontal movement to "do nothing" PAN started to work. Looks like the wheel's horisontal movement "disturbed" the click funktion for some reason. Strange... Quote
Tiger Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 very strange... then again, if we understood everything about how computers and software works together, life would be boring .. or wait.. Quote

I was going to suggest disabling the "tilt" function, glad you found it. Not an uncommon problem. I also do not care for Setpoint, I recommend X-Mouse Button Control. Quote
