addesigns Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Running AutoCAD 2010 at work. Used Continue Dimension, got my dimensions and ended it. Went to do continue dimesion on another part of the drawing and it wanted me to select and continue from the first on that I created. How do I/What do I do so that it allows me to create a new string of dimensions? Quote
Bill Tillman Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Start the Continue Dimension part and then right click and chose "Select" from the menu. This will allow you to select the new dimension you want to continue from. Quote
MSasu Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 By default the DIMCONTINUE command is linking to the last added linear dimension. If you want to start from a different one, just press after call the command; you will be asked to select the base dimension. For sure, the aforementioned command require to have at least one linear dimension previously added to the drawing. Quote
Mike_Taylor Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 You have to specify a regular dimension first, then you can select that dimension to continue the dimension string. When beginning the command you can press 'S' to select a new dimneion to continue from. (Look at the command line when starting the command). Quote
