spinecad Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Can someone help me how to create a 3D solid of the attached file in AutoCAD 2012 not by revolving? createsolid.dwg Quote
JD Mather Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Why would you not use Revolve - the easiest way to do this. Didn't you earlier insist in another thread on creating a pyramid the hard way? Ah yes, I found it http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?77745-Convert-Surface-To-Solid-in-AutoCAD-2002-Is-It-Possible Is this some kind of class challenge? In 2012 you could use the Loft command. Quote

Then the shape is formed and looks different. I remember asked a Path and Guide. But why now those are not available anymore Quote
JD Mather Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 But why now those are not available anymore Set delobj = 0 (before starting, I set this in my custom template - set it and forget it) Also, it looks like you might have MOde on SUrface rather than SOlid. Quote

JD is, as usual spot on, the easiest and most accurate way to do this would be with the REVOLVE command. My guess is that your instructor HAS insisted that it be done in another way to broaden your modeling tool skill palette, which is of course, a good thing. Quote
