SwChilly Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Here's an odd question. I am using Civil 3D 2013. My project manager would like to see centroid of a surface displayed, so he can determine lengths and flows from the centroid to the property line and so forth. Is there a way to display them, or even determine where it is located (then I can just through a block and label or something)? I tried googlin it but it keeps bringing up stuff for MAP 3D. Quote
Emigrato Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Tell your boss there's no centroid of a 3D object like a surface: "centroid" is a Gis definition, suitable ONLY to topological 2D polygons. Quote
BIGAL Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Maybe make a boundary then you could find centroid after convert to pline, also flows would'nt that be from highest point not centroid ! Quote
