spinecad Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Can someone tell me how to adjust the mesh size or density from less to much? Thank you Quote
Cad64 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Mesh size/density of what? Please be specific with your questions and post screenshots whenever possible. We need to know what type of object you're working with and what type of result you're trying to achieve. I'm assuming you're working with editable poly geometry? In general, to automatically increase mesh density, you can click the MSmooth button or the Tessellate button. Or you can apply a Meshsmooth, Tessellate or Turbosmooth modifier. Or you can manually create edges using the "Connect" tool or the "Swift Loop" tool. It all depends on what type of model you have and what you're trying to do with it. Quote

What I meant by mesh density is such as below image: I also have another two questions. How to explode a 3D object so that all meshes are explode? How to slice a 3D object such as below image so that a single object be divided as two: Quote
spinecad Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Can you tell me the step, if can be done, how to reduce the mesh size from less to much? Also, can you tell me how to slice any 3D object in 3ds Max. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 If you just want to increase the mesh density, click the Tessellate button. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 If you want to explode an object, select all edges and then click the "Split" button. Quote
Cad64 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 An easy way to split an object in half is by using the Symmetry modifier. Apply the modifier to your object, then in the symmetry parameters, uncheck "Weld Seam". Now convert to editable poly and you will have two halves that you can move apart. Once you move them apart, switch to "Border" selection mode, select the open boundary edge on each object and click "Cap" to seal them up. Quote

Very helpful in modeling. Regards Quote
Cad64 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You're welcome Rewind. I'm glad to see someone is appreciative of my hard work making all those screenshots. Quote
