Ski_Me Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I have a question about creating title blocks with attributes. I know how to create attributes and I know how to draw title blocks but when you create a title block with attributes does it have to be saved as a dwg when you do the wblock command? And what about the viewport? Do I have to create the viewport every time I insert the title block? Normally I just use the template I created and fill in the date, page number so on. I would like to automate this with attributes to reduce chances of mistakes. Quote
BIGAL Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Insert the title block into 1 layout and then you can copy as many times as you like, thats our DWT, there is lots of ways of auto filling the attributes I do things like read the layout name for sheet number. Oh yeah make sure you fill in the common stuff on the first layout before copying. Quote
Bladezy Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 this is what we do at my firm:- +create a title block with your desired fields (attributes) +save that title block as a template dwg. therefore you have one main dwg. that your constantly copy and rename to suit new job numbers etc. template000.dwg +if you are using sheet set manager, you should look into a program called "SSM Properties editor" by jtb world. this software enables you to make changes to multiple drawings at once. it saves a HEAP of time messing around with revision numbers and all that jazz. feel free to PM me for more details. Happy Drafting. Quote
