drawing a palisade fence on a slope

Hi guys,

I need to draw a palisade ( steel bar picket fence) now the issue is it is on a slope. It seems easier for me to draw it level so i was wondering if there was a technique where by the pickets remain vertically plumb but you can tilt the whole unit down so the tops of the pickets follow the slope as do the rails whilst keeping the pickets plumb.

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you've got a sloping top-line (even if this is just a construction line) you might want to look into EXTEND with FENCE as your selection type when you pick the objects to extend.

if the top of your pickets are profiled an array might be the way to go.

Thanks for the prompt reply, i actually have already drawn the fence in a level plane, so was wondering if i could apply the slope to it from here in its entirety rather than drawing from scratch.

One approach to drawing this would be to make a block of a picket, and use Measure to distribute it along the rails.

Of course, you would have to alter the length of segment when going along a sloping rail, in order to keep the pickets the same horizontal distance apart, and take the option not to align the block with the object.

Thanks for the help guys , i ended up rotating the top and bottom rails to the angle required then used move to drop the pickets down to height accordingly, took a bit of time but job done. I thought there may be a quick tool tip to speed the process up good thing there was only a a couple of panels worth, you could always copy a panel at a time though.
