Command line is not opening a dialogue box?

i have been using the MAPIINSERT command successfully all day to bring in orthorectified TIF, and just recently, i got the following error:

There are no valid MS Jet providers installed

and now the command line is waiting for a file name instead of opening a windows explorer tab that allows me to navigate to the file?

did i inadvertent change an import setting?

In AutoCAD Vanilla, the system variable responsible of controling the dialog for file browse is FILEDIA; when set to 1 it works via a dialog box instead of command prompt. Not sure if will help in your case, too.

If somehow FILEDIA=1 fails, you can input a ~ sign ("tilde") in the command prompt to trigger the classic dialogue window.

That worked, great thanks! FILEDIA got turn to "0".
