About families

Hi i created a column in the family creation when i place it in model and when i use the command attach top base the column i created is not attaching to the top level, like the default familes does which is provided by the autodesk.

 

 

Please help me what iam doing wrong

Make sure the Family Template you used was a Column Family. This is very important when creating families from scratch.

I did use the column family template but it is not working.....Please help.

Did you constrain the geometry to both the Upper Ref. Level, and Lower Ref. Level in the Front View? I believe this is needed for the Attach Top/Base to work. I've never created a column family from scratch but I'd assume this is why it's not working.
