Fail to CommCntr Controller

Recommended Posts

Morning all,

Back in November I wrote this:-

Has anyone ever had the message "Failed to get CommCntrController"? I have suddenly started to have this pop up every time I open a drawing.

The only change I have made lately is downloading Inventor Fusion

To which a couple of you replied, I changed the relevant values in the registry and everything worked. Now however it has popped back up again (I have no idea why) and doesn't seem to want to go away. The registry path suggested is not quite the same on my machine, perhaps because it's networked, I really don't know but I am able to find what I think is the right reg and change the value. Nothing happening though, any ideas?

Cheers

Iain

You may have to go back and check those same Registry values. Perhaps they were reset when you installed Inventor Fusion.

I uninstalled it yesterday, probably why the problem has arisen again. I have checked the only registry that matches the suggestions and set the value to 0 as advised. Still nothing though. These ones I cannot find as I don't have a path that starts with HKLM:-

HKLM/Software/Autodesk/Rxx.x/ACAD-xxx:xxx/CADmanager Control/Communication Centerand set the keys "EnableCommunicationCenter", "EnableNonPatchNotifications" and "MaintenancePatchNotificationOption" to 0 (zero).

EDIT:- HKLM (LM meaning local machine?) registry only has Inventor listed under Autodesk, even though I have uninstalled it. Hmmm. I would upload a screenshot but the file manager is being a d**k at present. Or I am

You should be looking under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for AutoDesk then the version of AutoCAD that is installed.

All I have under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/AUTODESK is Inventor. There is no listing for AutoCAD. I kid you not
