Primal Scientist Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Hello All, I know I have asked this question before and almost got there last time but I need to make some changes to a lot of drawings. Here is the deal: I have had to update 3 Xrefs which are as follows: X-PROPOSED-J (WHICH HAS NOW BECOME X-PROPOSED-K) X-TOPO-V4 (WHICH HAS NOW BECOME X-TOPO-V5) X-FOOT-F (WHICH HAS NOW BECOME X-FOOT-G) I have one Xref Folder where they are all kept. The old Xrefs have been Zipped up and moved to my Archive Folder. In Reference Manager, I call up one of my GA Drawings to change these 3 Xrefs. The only problem is that the Reference Manager only gives me the option to navigate to the Xref Folder when I actually want to pick the drawing when using 'find and replace'. How can I pick the new Xrefs and actually change their name in Reference Manager? Please help!! Many thanks in advance. Daz Quote
RobDraw Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 If you have to do this on a regular basis, I would suggest not changing the name of the XREF file. It will avoid you the hassle of having to repath your XREF's with every update. With that said. In your XREF manager, down in the details section, select the "Found At" section, then click the elipses at the end. Now you can browse to the updated file. After you do that you can rename it in the "Reference Name" section. Quote
Primal Scientist Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks Rob. Yeah, they made the mistake from the start by Reving the Xrefs. Its just become a nightmare. Regards Daz. Quote
JeepMaster Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Do you guys have a lisp or script that can do the renaming and repath on multiple drawings? Quote
RobDraw Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 JeepMaster, You should start a new thread with that question. More people will have a chance of viewing it therefore increasing your chances for getting an answer. Quote
Foz Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Found this on line....type XRP at the command prompt.... This doesn't allow you to rename the Xref's but it's a pretty quick tool for turning all reference paths (images and xref's) to relative. xrp2004.zip Quote
nextvkin Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Foz, Thanks for that - I had lost it somehow and have been searching high & low for it, getting wrong versions on the way, but this is it! Thanks again. Kay:D:D:D Quote
