Good Afternoon Solidworks Users,

I have a drawing that I would like to send to our plotter. The problem I am having is that the drawing is pretty much centered on the print preview. Is there a way you can move the drawing to the bottom left of the paper this way we will only have to trim two sides rather than 4 sides after its being printed? I went into printer preference and the KIP alignment is set to "Left" I hope I am clear on my question. Thank you in advance for your help.

Can you not do the following?

SELECT -> MOVE

SELECT -> W (for window)

draw a window around your drawing

move the whole drawing to where you want it (0,0)

SELECT -> ENTER

Then print it

Welldriller, on the sheet tab inside Solidworks, the drawing is perfectly fine and perfect on printable area. When it comes to printing, for some reason, the drawing gets centered of the paper and leaves a huge gap around the border which forces us to trim four sides even if the scale is 1 to 1. If I do scale to fit, obviously it fills up the entire page. Of course, our drawings must be 1 to 1 scale. Any other suggestions?

SolidWorks is not AutoCAD.

Some plotters, in their custom options/properties, will have a "Remove Top and Bottom Blank Areas", or similar, that can be checked on or off, this will still give only 2 sides to cut, there may be other options depending on the plotter.
